Enjoy Free Wireless Internet Access at Many Library Branches

By , About.com Guide

If you're looking for a quiet place to go online with your laptop or PDA and don't want to have to buy a coffee to do it, consider visiting one of the Toronto Public Library branches that have free wireless internet access available.

How to Use the Service
To use the free wireless, just head to a branch of the library where the service is available and find "Toronto Public Library" in your available networks list. Once you've connected, you'll have to select a check box to indicate that you agree to the terms of use before you can proceed. To read the terms ahead of time visit the Toronto Public Library's Wireless Internet Access page.

Things to Remember
The network is not secured, so you'll want to do your banking and buying elsewhere. Also note that although there is no time limit, there is a maximum amount of traffic that the system can handle so if the library is too busy you might not be able to connect. Arrive with a fully charged battery if you can because there may or may not be a convenient place for you to plug in.
