Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square is constantly awash in the glow of giant billboards and video screens. So what would happen there when 8pm arrived?
Marilyn Campbell
The video screens were off for Earth Hour, and many of the billboards went dark as well. A few stayed on however, and several of the surrounding businesses left their large storefront signs illuminated throughout the hour. The result was a square that was certainly more subdued than any other night, but was far from what you'd call "dark".
