Things to Do for Father's Day
Toronto Events to Attend with Dad

By Marilyn Campbell, About.com

When is Father's Day?

Father's Day is the third Sunday in June. In 2009, Father's Day falls on Sunday June 21st.

Taking Transit on Father's Day

On special days such as Father's Day it's especially nice to avoid any parking or traffic hassles. Because Father's Day is on a Sunday, transit riders can make use of the TTC Day Pass which allows many small groups to ride all day for only $9. But on Sundays service also starts later, with subway service generally starting at 9am. So check your routes to make sure the timing will work for you then consider grabbing a Day Pass in advance.

Father's Day Events in Toronto for 2009

Father's Day Walk/Run for Prostate Cancer
Toronto's installment of this national 5km family event is taking place at the Distillery District with registration beginning at 8am. You can pre-register online or at select Running Room locations on June 18th and 19th. Money raised will go to support the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada.

Brunch, Bows and Arrows at Casa Loma
Casa Loma is hosting a special Father's Day Royal Brunch with sittings at 10:30am, 11am, 12:30pm and 1pm. You can add to the fun by attending one of the special archery sessions taking place on Sunday or come the day before for the special Saturday Father's Day archery session. Both the brunch and the archery sessions are ticketed, and you must reserve and pay for your brunch seats in advance.

Festival Finales
Summer is full of festivals in Toronto and this June is no exception. Several festivals are having their final events on the same Sunday as Father's Day, so if your dad's into short films, music, art, or tattoos there may be an event just for him. Visit the websites of:
