Many Torontonians are passionate about municipal politics with discussions, debates and media coverage of Toronto elections beginning many months in advance of the actual polling day. So just when is Toronto's next Municipal Election?
Answer:

Toronto's next Municipal Election is scheduled to take place on Monday October 27th, 2014.

Other Dates of Note for Toronto's Next Election:

The detailed calendar of dates for the 2014 election is not yet available. In the meantime, the following dates from the October 25th 2010 election have been left up to serve as a guide of what to expect.
  • Monday January 4th, 2010 - Nominations open and campaign period begins

  • April, 2010 - City begins hiring for advance voting and election day positions

  • Friday September 10th, 2010 - Last day to file (or withdraw) nominations

  • Tuesday October 5th to Friday October 8th, 2010 - Weekday Advance Voting is available at the five Civic Centres and City Hall from 10am-6pm.

  • Tuesday October 12th & Wednesday October 13th, 2010 - More Weekday Advance Voting is available at the five Civic Centres and City Hall from 10am-6pm.

  • Saturday October 16th & Sunday October 17th, 2010 - Weekend Advance Voting will be available at one location in each ward.

  • Monday October 25th, 2010 - Election Day!

  • Thursday October 28th, 2010 - Official Results

  • Wednesday December 1st, 2010 - New Term of Office Begins
