Wednesday Night Comedy

Just like all "regularly scheduled" events, these shows can fall victim to things like holidays, larger venue bookings, or the performers going on tour. Use the links to confirm a show is actually on this week.

Wednesday Stand-Up

Yuk Yuk's Comedy
Yuk Yuk's, 224 Richmond Street West, 8pm
A host and several opening acts support a headliner who changes weekly. ($12, reservations preferred)

PRO/AM Night at Absolute
Absolute Comedy Club, 2335 Yonge Street, 8:30pm
One or two professional, touring comedians are joined by a few local amateurs. ($6, Reservations required)

Wednesday Sketch

The Second City Mainstage Revue
The Second City Mainstage, 51 Mercer Street, 8pm
Thematic yet erratic, Second City's show changes every few months but they are generally a collection of sketches tied together around a current event related theme. Expect recurring characters and running gags, but don't expect an actual plot. That would spoil the fun. ($23, followed by a free improv show)

Wednesday Improv

Harold Night at the Bad Dog
Bad Dog Theatre, 138 Danforth Avenue, 8pm & 9pm
Harold is long-form improv, where teams try to create actual storylines from audience suggestions. Bad Dog has its two shows divided by experience - new and mid-level teams do the first show while mid-level and experienced teams do the second. The website lists the schedule of upcoming teams, so if you have a favorite you can keep an eye out for their next performance. Or just go every week - it's all good. ($5 for both shows)
