Just like all "regularly scheduled" events, these shows can fall victim to things like holidays, larger venue bookings, or the performers going on tour. Use the links to confirm a show is actually on this week.
Monday Stand-Up
The ALTdot COMedy Lounge
Upstairs at The Rivoli, 334 Queen St. West, 9pm
The ALTdot COMedy Lounge usually features around 10 different performers, often with very different styles. One of my favorite times to go is when they're having an "All New Material!" night. This is a chance for proven comedians to try out unproven material, and if they've got good recovery lines it's as much fun to watch a joke tank as it is when they hit one out of the park. Monday Sketch
Go Ahead, Make My Monday!
The Second City Mainstage, 51 Mercer Street, 8pm
This is the one night of the week Second City puts the mainstage show aside and instead performs a best-of collection from Second City's past. ($12, students* with I.D. can purchase half-price rush tickets starting at 7pm - *Second City shows are recommended for mature audiences only, 16+)
Monday Improv
The Workshop
The Second City Mainstage, 51 Mercer Street, 8pm
Shortly following Make My Monday!, Second City follows up with a second Monday show. The Workshop straddles two kinds of performance, as traditionally on-your-own-up-there improv is mixed with scene direction given by expert comedian Bruce Hunter. (Pay What You Can)
Harold Night
The Savannah Room, 294 College, 8pm
The Impatient Theatre Co. brings together several teams to try their hand at this long-form improv. ($5)
Irregular Monday Laughs
The following aren't on every week, but...
- The first Monday of the month is The Jam, where anyone from the audience is welcome to take the improv stage at Bad Dog Theatre ($5)
