Location of The Queensway Cinema:
Cineplex Odeon Queensway
1025 The Queensway
(416) 503-0424
Inside the Queensway Cinema:
For entertainment before and after the movie, you can play videogames in the Cinesape section or during peak hours you can peruse DVDs, CDs and movie paraphernalia in a small store called Xtraz. If you've booked a birthday, you can make use of the party room.
What's On at the Queensway Cinema:
This is also one of the Cineplex Odeon theaters used for special event screenings like Maple Leaf games, WWE events, and live and encore broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Getting to the Queensway Cinema by Transit:
The number 80 Queensway bus that runs from Sherway Gardens to Keele Station is another option, but it's less frequent and changes its route on Sundays, only making it as far east as the Humber Loop.
Getting to the Queensway Cinema by Car:
From the east/west, The Queensway itself runs from Mississauga to Roncesvalles (where it splits into King and Queen West). Or you can use the Gardiner Expressway and take the northbound exit for Islington Avenue. Just take care crossing Islington to make the lefthand turn, which you'll have to do right away.
From the north/south, Islington runs from Lakeshore Boulevard right through Toronto, or you can take the 427 to the Gardiner and head east.
What's Nearby:
There's also a Scotiabank in the same parking lot in case you need some cash, and an Esso gas station right across the road, on the north-west corner of Islington and The Queensway.
Other dinner options include the Swiss Chalet, Mr. Greek or The Mandarin that are located at the Kipling-Queensway Mall, an easy walk or very short drive west along Queensway.
If you want to make a day of it, you can head to Ikea before the show, which is just a few blocks west on The Queensway, past Kipling Road.
The Sherway Gardens shopping mall is west along The Queensway, just past Highway 427.
