Last Week to See Nicholas Nickleby
Mirvish productions finally brought David Edgar's adaptation of Charles Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby to Toronto earlier this year, and this is the final week to see it. It's a trimmed-down version of the nine-hour script that was originally presented by London's Royal Shakespeare Company in 1980, but it still spans two shows. You can see Part One on Thursday night and Part Two on Friday, or you can take the plunge and head to the Princess of Wales in the afternoon on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday when the two parts are being presented within a few hours of each other (this is the route we decided to go because really, how often do you get a chance to take in a theatrical marathon?). There's enough time in between for dinner in the Entertainment District -- which you can get a free voucher for if you buy tickets for both parts at the same time!
- Visit Mirvish's official Nicholas Nickleby website to learn more about showtimes, the restaurants taking part in the dinner deal, and how to purchase tickets.
