By December 13, 2012

Follow me on:

  • In Christmas craft shows this weekend, the CBC Charity Craft Sale is on today (Thursday). The Artisans' Gift Fair also continues this weekend at the Tranzac, and the second installment of the Barns Holiday Art Market is on Sunday.

  • Winter events at Harbourfront continue this weekend, including Winter Flicks, the Holiday Market, Holiday Big Bands, a Winter Scavenger Hunt, and, on Saturday night, the first DJ Skate Night of the season, which will feature DJ P-Plus & Miss Ange from FLOW 93-5.

  • Other seasonal programming continues at Black Creek Pioneer Village, Casa Loma, and Toronto's historic museums.

  • A weekly event, this Sunday's Family Day at the Gardiner Museum features a scavenger hunt.

  • Girls Learning Code, which hosts workshops and events aimed at girls aged 9-13, is holding a very cool-sounding Technology Slumber Party on Saturday night.

  • Evergreen Brick Works is holding a Winter Solstice Festival on Saturday with a skating party, crafts, a Traditional Winter Round Dance, food, and more.

  • These are the final few days for the Lowe's Toronto Christmas Market, which continues at the Distillery District until Sunday.

  • Mariposa Cruise Lines is offering Holiday Dinner Cruises on Friday and Saturday night, and daytime Santa Cruises on Saturday and Sunday.

  • The Santa Cruises are part of Winterfest on Toronto's Waterfront, which is on for a fourth and final weekend.

  • Winter Magic Buskertainment continues in the Downtown Yonge BIA.

  • The fourth annual CityTV Carol Sing is on Saturday afternoon at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church in support of food banks.

  • Santa's at the Toronto Zoo on Saturday and Sunday.

  • On Friday night, author Misha Bower and her band EONS will "Make Some Noise" at the Lillian H. Smith Branch of the Toronto Public Library.

  • I was going to mention that Saturday is the first show from the new puppet performance series Puppet Allsorts, but at time of writing there's only one ticket left! If you aren't the lucky person to grab it, the next show is coming up January 20.

  • There's a Family Jingle & Mingle event at the International Centre in Mississauga on Sunday.

  • The Toronto Marlies are in town on Sunday afternoon, taking on the Grand Rapids Griffins in Ricoh Coliseum.

  • And here are this weekend's events from the calendar of User-submitted events for December which haven't already been mentioned above:
  • On Saturday, the variety show Hope Night in T.O. is on at Factory Theatre in support of Free the Children.

  • Also on Saturday night, AfroJazz band Dande Music Showcase releases a new album at May Cafe.

  • The Lenses of Freedom photo exhibition continues at Beit Zatoun until Sunday.

  • IPPINKA is holding a pop-up shop on Sunday.

  • And there's a Golden Spiral Wellness Seminar on Saturday.
