Tickets Available to The Wright Stuff: Double Bill Pope

Friday July 17, 2009
As most good geeks already know, writer/director/actor/producer Edgar Wright has been in Toronto for the past several months at the helm of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, a film based on the series of graphic novels by Canadian Brian Lee O'Malley and starring also-Canadian Michael Cera. Brit Wright is best known as the co-writer and director of both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, so with all his horror/comedy/cult-y/comic-y street cred, it's not surprising he already curated a series of films at the Bloor Cinema, dubbed "The Wright Stuff".

The Bloor Cinema is at 506 Bloor Street West (by Bathurst).

With filming on Scott Pilgrim nearing completion, the Bloor has Wright back for one more night in a bit of a bonus installment. Pilgrim cinematographer Bill Pope was also the man behind the lens for equally cult-y hits Army of Darkness (aka Evil Dead 3) and Team America: World Police (among many other things), so the two men will be at the Bloor Cinema on July 26th for a double bill of the aforementioned Pope triumphs, having an onstage discussion between the films.

Tickets for the double bill are on sale as of today for $18, available through the Bloor Cinema box office and through TOtix.ca. Separate tickets are $10 and will only be available from the box office 30 minutes before each screening - if there are any left, that is.
