Create Your Own Very Short Film on Toronto

Wednesday April 15, 2009
The Toronto Urban Film Festival is once again accepting submissions of 1-minute silent films to play on the LCD screens inside TTC stations during the 2009 installment of the festival, September 11th-20th. Anyone is welcome to submit a film, as long as it is exactly 60-seconds long, silent and falls into one of the seven Toronto-themed festival categories:
  • Urban Encounters – the moments that make city-living worthwhile
  • Urban Diversity – the differences that make us stronger
  • Urban Journeys – the multitude of ways we navigate our city
  • Urban Imaginary – hopes for the future of municipalities
  • Urban Natural – the living city, both nurtured and oppressed
  • Urban Secrets – stories about the hidden or forgotten city
  • Urban Ideas – the opinions and politics of an engaged populous
You have until July 15th to submit your film online, which gives you plenty of time to think up and complete your 1-minute masterpiece. If you need some inspiration, last year's selected entries can be viewed online on the TUFF website, where you can also get all the details on the technical specs, rules and how to submit.
