Mow Down Pollution

Tuesday April 15, 2008
Beginning this Thursday, the Clean Air Foundation is once again bringing the Mow Down Pollution campaign to a Home Depot near you. You can trade in an old gas powered lawn mower or trimmer for an up to $100 instant rebate on an electric, rechargeable, low-emission or push-reel mower or trimmer.

Just like all the talk about efficient cars, trading in your gas mower can save both the environment and all the money you spend on gas. And since according to the Mow Down Pollution website cordless electric mowers are only about half as loud as gas mowers, you'll be less likely to annoy your neighbors if you head out to do some yard work on a Sunday morning.

The trade-in program continues until the 27th. If you have an old gas mower you'd like to get rid of but aren't in the market for a new one, you can also simply bring the mower in for recycling.
