Suspend Your Disbelief: Library Seeks Screenwriter

Wednesday January 9, 2008
I'll admit it. I'm one of those people who has a small pile of screenplays on a shelf collecting dust. Most of them deserve to stay there, but every once in awhile I try to find the better scripts a home. One place I never expected to see a call for screenwriters however was on the Toronto Public Library website.

Turns out the library's Writer-in-Residence program is looking for a screenwriter for their spring session at North York Central Library. Of course they're after someone who's actually been produced, which rightly leaves me out of the running. But if you're an aspiring screenwriter or know someone who is, it should be worth keeping an eye on TPL's website to see what events the Screenwriter-in-Residence will be involved with during their April to June tenure.

If by chance you really are a produced screenwriter with some teaching experience, the library's accepting applications until January 25th and I'm accepting sage advice year-round.
