GO Transit Strike Deadline Announced

Wednesday January 2, 2008
Sigh.

It's happened. According to the GO Transit website, the morning of Monday January 7th will see job action by GO Transit's bus drivers if a settlement isn't reached before then.

The GO Trains will still be running, but ticket sellers are part of the same union, so GO Train customers should get their tickets in advance.

There's still time to avert a strike, and the report on the GO site says meetings are already planned to try to do just that. But if you take a GO Bus regularly, you should be coming up with an alternate plan for Monday morning. GO Transit recommends carpooling, or other public transit.

In the transportation section of this site, Getting Around Town, there are links and articles that may help you with those plans. To stay updated on the situation, GO Transit's On-Time Service Status Page is where the original announcement was posted.
